CHF 728.00

Build a consistent ceramic practice in Zurich

This 20-hour ceramic practice pack is designed for those who want to move beyond occasional sessions and develop a regular, sustained relationship with clay.

Working in a small-group pottery studio in Zurich (max. 4 participants), you benefit from individual guidance while maintaining the freedom to explore your own rhythm and direction.

What you can explore

Depending on your level and interests, you can work with:

  • Hand-building (coil, slab, sculptural forms)

  • Wheel throwing (after introduction)

  • Surface work, glazing and finishing

  • Understanding clay, form and firing processes

What develops over time

With regular practice, you begin to:

  • refine your gestures and techniques

  • develop consistency in your work

  • create more intentional and finished pieces

  • gradually develop your own style

Why longer practice matters

Working with clay is a gradual process.

Over multiple sessions, the material becomes more familiar, your movements more precise, and the experience more rewarding.

This is where a true ceramic practice begins.

Flexible practice rhythm

  • Book sessions according to your schedule

  • Ideal for weekly or bi-weekly practice

  • Valid for 6 months

Booking & cancellations

Sessions can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 48 hours in advance.

Practice & access

Use of the wheel is reserved for participants who have completed an introduction session.

Practice time includes preparation and cleaning of your workspace.

Clay & materials

A small amount of clay is included during your first session.

For ongoing practice, clay is charged based on usage:

  • CHF 10 / kg for raw clay

  • CHF 30 / kg for finished pieces when finishing is handled by the studio (trimming, glazing and firing)

Most people typically spend around CHF 5–15 per session on clay.

This allows flexibility depending on what you choose to make, while keeping the system fair for everyone.

Studio guidelines

All materials are provided by the studio. External materials are not permitted.

Courses are held in English, German, Italian or French depending on participants.

We kindly ask that pieces are completed and collected within 3 months.

Glazing & safety

For safety reasons, the following are required during glazing:

  • black nitrile gloves

  • FFP2 or FFP3 mask (not provided by the studio)

Eating and drinking are not permitted during glazing.

Process & timing

Clay requires time and care. Drying, firing and cooling are essential steps.

Firing is done in small batches once the kiln is full, in order to reduce energy consumption.
This may involve some waiting time.

We do our best to process all pieces as efficiently as possible.

Material awareness

Clay is a natural and limited resource.
We encourage a mindful approach to what you choose to keep and fire.
