One Day Intensive Pottery Workshop (6 Hours)

CHF 218.00

Immerse yourself in the art of pottery with this hands-on, six-hour workshop—perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike. You'll learn the foundations of hand-building techniques, including slab, coil, and pinch construction, while gaining confidence and creativity through guided practice.

If you're interested in working on the pottery wheel, prior experience is required, or you’ll need to have completed our Introduction to the Wheel class. This helps ensure a more focused and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Led by an experienced instructor, the session includes time to shape, refine, and texture your clay creations. You’ll receive individual feedback throughout, and leave with pieces ready to be fired and finished.

You also have the option to split your time across two sessions—for example, spending 4 to 5 hours on modeling and 1 to 2 hours on glazing or painting.

This course is ideal for anyone who doesn't have time to commit to weekly classes, but still wants to make meaningful progress and create significant, finished pieces.

Whether you're new to pottery or looking to deepen your skills in a focused setting, this one-day intensive is the perfect opportunity to unleash your creativity and connect with clay.

What Happens After Your Session?

After the workshop, your pieces will be carefully dried and bisque fired at 980°C.

Once bisque fired, you have two options:

  • Return for a glazing or painting session (additional class required)

  • Or, if you prefer, we can glaze your work for you (additional fee applies)

Your glazed pieces will then be fired a second time at around 1220°C. Once cooled, they’ll be ready for pickup—fully finished and ready to use or display.

All pricing and pickup details are outlined in our terms and conditions.

Tea, coffee, and syrup are available for you to enjoy. Alcohol is offered on a pay-what-you-wish basis.

Once you've made your purchase, you can easily book your first session here. Have questions? We're happy to help at hoi@clayandtao.com.

  12. Our studio works with a small kiln, which means firings are done gradually and only when the kiln is full, to avoid wasting energy. Working with clay takes time: drying, firing, cooling… Each step is important to ensure your pieces turn out well. I do my best to have every creation fired as quickly as possible, but there may be some waiting time. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
