Centered Hands: A Quiet Approach to Wheel Throwing
Weekly Workshop – Starting in September
Every Monday | 3-Hour Sessions |

9am-12pm

01.09 - 8.09 - 15.09 - 22.09

Centered Hands is a hands-on pottery course designed for those who want to slow down and work with care. Rather than relying on force, speed, or muscle, this course focuses on throwing slowly — guided by breathwork and grounding exercises. Forms emerge through steady hands, focused attention, and thoughtful movement.

Inspired by principles of flow and balance, each session offers time and space to engage deeply with the process. We approach wheel work from the inside out — not just shaping clay, but noticing how your breath, posture, and pace influence the outcome. This is a practical, body-aware method that emphasizes patience, sensitivity, and ease.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Breathwork and grounding woven into the practice

  • A quiet studio environment that supports focus and clarity

  • Techniques for working with clay through calm, responsive movement

  • A process-oriented approach rooted in balance, rhythm, and adaptability

  • Shaping vessels through internal awareness rather than external pressure

  • An opportunity to build skill while developing a more relaxed, attentive way of working

Centered Hands is ideal for beginners and experienced potters alike — anyone interested in exploring pottery at a slower pace, with space to focus, feel, and create in a more grounded way. There’s no need to have taken our introduction class beforehand.

If you're already a student and want to use your 10, 20, or Friends of CAT pack, just email me to reserve your spot.

This workshop counts as 12 hours of credit at your applicable rate.
