Winter Workshop | From the Invisible to Form: Craft Your Sacred Altar

CHF 470.00

Winter Workshop | From the Invisible to Form: Craft Your Sacred Altar
January 16 - 23 - 30. 2026 (9.30 - 12.30 AM) AND a glazing or pit fire session to finish your altar (2 hours, date to be determined)

Create a personal altar — a space for reflection, intention, or ritual — shaped by your hands and fired by flame. In this January workshop, you'll design and build your own ceramic altar, then complete it in an outdoor pit fire, where heat, smoke, and natural materials leave unpredictable, beautiful marks.

Using simple, expressive hand-building techniques, you'll be guided to create a meaningful form — whether that's a place for treasured objects, a symbol of transition, or a quiet focal point for your home or practice.

Optional Add-On: Taoist Guardian Consultation (+110 CHF)

In alignment with Taoist wisdom, participants have the opportunity to add a Qi Men Dun Jia consultation to discover their personal guardian spirit — one of ten unique energies, each with its own way of responding. Some guardians reveal themselves through water, others through dreams, mantras, stillness, or movement. Knowing how your guardian communicates allows you to approach your altar-building process with greater clarity and connection.

This optional consultation can help guide how you shape your altar — not only in form and function, but in how you relate to it once it’s complete. If you’re interested in having the consultation, please book it before the beginning of the class.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Step-by-step instruction for designing and building your own altar

  • A relaxed, creative environment for hands-on clay work

  • Optional: Pit fire experience: outdoor firing using flame, sawdust, and natural elements (supplement of CHF 35.-)

  • Optional : Personal consultation to learn your Taoist guardian and its mode of manifestation (supplement of CHF 110.-)

No previous clay experience is necessary — just curiosity, creativity, and an interest in making something meaningful.

If you're already a student and want to use your 10, 20, or Friends of CAT pack, just email me to reserve your spot.

This workshop counts as 11 hours of credit at your applicable rate.
